All Events cancelled till further notice
The ECSCC some bad news: late last night our President informed us that we do not have liability insurance for ECSCC activities, and do not have Directors liability insurance for the Executive members who make decisions on our behalf.
Accordingly, a decision has been made that there will be no club sanctioned events considered, promoted or staged until these proper and mandatory insurance coverages are in place.
Unfortunately, this ban on ECSCC events includes the two seniors community parades planned for Father’s Day (JUNE 21), the two events Alec had planned for JULY, as well as any other proposed events.
As stated previously, anyone can plan, promote and stage an event on their own. However, as publicized earlier, ECSCC still can not and will not approve or promote such events.
It should be noted that the ECSCC has always been compliant with ensuring we have our proper insurance coverages. This issue has little or nothing to do with the Covid 19 restrictions, which we notice with gratitude that Alec has done a very conscientious job in ensuring his two events in July would meet and adhere to the Covid 19 cautions and restrictions.
At this time I cannot say whether someone is approaching other insurance companies about providing us with the type of liability coverage we require. All we know at this point is that our current insurer cannot provide us with liability coverage until NOVEMBER 2020.
