His Highness, NAMGAR (North American MGA Register) Chairman, Tom Medeen, officially proclaimed Saturday, May 1, 2021 as “Drive Your MGA Day”. To celebrate this grande day, the ECSCC will be having its first event of 2021 on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Alberta Health restrictions have nothing against driving your car, as long as we don’t stop to congregate in person. That means that we have to stay away from each other and in particular, don’t breathe on each other! We will drive Anthony Henday Drive, 77.954 kilometers, 48.438 miles, approximately 50 Minutes.
We will start at the Lowe’s parking lot, 10225 – 186 street. At 2:00 PM exactly, we will head west from Lowe’s, bearing right onto the Henday, going North. We will drive exactly at the speed limit, whenever possible. For those of you who wish, you can join us at any of the entrances to the Henday. Your challenge will be to estimate when we will drive by your chosen entrance, so you can join us as we drive by. You can use Google Maps, GPS or any othermethod, including wild guesses.
Although this is “Drive Your MGA Day”, it presupposes that any other makes of conveyances are welcome to join us because, of course, you will want to admire the MGAs on this auspicious day. If unfortunately, you don’t have an MGA, you have our deepest sympathies, but you are welcome to join us in whatever you have, be it sports cars, SUVs or any other transportation device.
After viewing these beautiful MGAs, no doubt there will be a run on the used car MGA market!
See you on the Henday! Dennis Coulthard, Chair
